Sept. 1, 1975, marked the beginning of a new local television era in Manitoba. Global Winnipeg (called CKND at the time) hit the airwaves to inform and entertain.
Over the course of four decades, Global News has been part of this community, covering a wide range of stories. The list of programs that have run on Global Winnipeg is also incredibly long, including shows like Ray St. Germain’s Big Sky Country, Sports Line, Safeway Select etc. plus Love Boat, Seinfeld, Friends, Survivor, The Blacklist, Big Brother and more.
During this 40th anniversary year, we will be sharing nostalgic videos, photo galleries and stories in our Global Winnipeg 40 flashbacks. Also, watch for special contests on our Fun 2B40 celebration page.
Share your Global Winnipeg 40 stories as well on our Facebook page or email them to us at globalwinnipeg40@shawmedia.ca
