17-year-old charged after hit and run on Siksika Nation Sunday

CALGARY – A 17-year-old female from Siksika Nation has been charged in Sunday’s crash that left one man in hospital.

The teen is charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, fail to remain at a collision, taking a motor vehicle without consent and impaired operations of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

RCMP said the driver hit a male pedestrian near the Bow River on the Siksika Nation, then fled the scene.

The teen was arrested Sunday on Tsuu T’ina Nation. She’s since been released and is set to appear in Siksika Provincial Court on Sept. 10.

The 27-year-old Siksika man who was hit remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.

Gleichen RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
