WINNIPEG — A suspicious package found outside a Shoppers Drug Mart near the Health Sciences Centre turned out to be nothing
Emergency crews surrounded the Shoppers Drug Mart on Notre Dame Ave. Thursday evening before shutting down a portion of Sherbrook Street near Notre Dame Ave.
It happened shortly before 10 p.m.
The bomb unit and haz mat team was also called to this location. Global News was also told a portion of northbound Sherbrook was also blocked.
According to several sources obtained by Global News, the bomb squad detonated a package around 12:30 a-m.
There were no reports of injuries or any information on who sent the package.
Police tell Global News Friday morning, crews cleared the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m. Friday.
