You may not know the name Prince Royce, but that’s all about to change. The 26-year-old heartthrob from the Bronx has had three albums, 10 consecutive #1 hits, 20 Latin Billboard Awards, seven Latin Grammy Nominations, plus a slew of other notable awards. And with Prince Royce’s debut English album “Double Vision” (available now), he’s gearing up for world domination.
When ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey sat down with the singer in Toronto, he told us he’s ready for new fans to hear his music. Saying, “It’s a little weird because it’s almost like starting over. You know? Like I’m getting to so many different markets who don’t know who Prince Royce is… but it’s exciting.”
The singer has one billion streams online, but his new album is sure to attract worldwide attention thanks to collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez. JLo even appears in Royce’s video “Back It Up”! Royce jokes, “Who doesn’t have a huge crush on her!… There was a moment where (JLO) got close and we’re kind of getting comfortable. And I’m like ‘Oh my… I’ve got Jennifer Lopez backing up on me! I’m one of the fortunate guys in the world to be doing this!'”
