The Republican debates and the antics of Donald Trump may have set Twitter on fire the past few days, but it was Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush who went tweet-a-tweet to call each other out on campaign promises.
Whether anyone on the Republican slate can build up the public support to surpass Trump’s popularity before primary season gets underway in February — yes, it’s that far away and the election is even further down the road — GOP hopefuls like Bush are rattling their sabers at Democratic front-runner and presumed nominee Clinton.

So when a tweet from Clinton’s official Twitter account on Monday promised to make college education more affordable, Bush’s team came back with a jab at the current Democratic government and warned Clinton is “mortgaging the future of college grads for four more years.”

Now, Clinton’s camp aren’t social media slouches and certainly weren’t going to let that tweet slide. They responded by giving Bush an ‘F’ for college affordability in the state of Florida during his time as governor.
Whether or not Bush out-trolled Clinton may be in the political eyes of the beholder, but he may have gotten the last laugh.
As far as the campaign goes, keeping in mind the presidential election is still 454 days, this Twitter troll-off was pretty tame.

And while it’s not the first time presidential candidates have sparred on social media — or the last — their harshest foe may not be each other but Twitter itself.
