MONTREAL – A man and a women in their fifties are dead, after their car collided with a moose overnight in the Laurentides.
The accident happened at around midnight, as the couple was driving along Route 175 near Lac Jacques-Cartier in the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve, just north of Quebec City.
The car hit a moose, then crossed the median before slamming into a rock wall near the shoulder.
The jaws of life were needed to pull both victims from the wreckage.
They were transported to hospital where they were declared dead.
The couple hailed from Donnaconna, a small town located about 40 kilometres west of Quebec City.
