WINNIPEG — After 17 years at the mic veteran broadcaster, Charles Adler, is signing off on his final radio show with CJOB.

Adler joined the station in the 9 am time slot in 1998.  For eight years he lead a national program and more recently, moved back to the three hour morning program.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The Friday program made tribute to his time on the airwaves, with guests like Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman and Winnipeg Police Chief Devon Clunis each sharing their own thoughts on the often opinionated host.

Clunis said it’s “A sad day for many….including my mom who listens to you everyday.”

Adler shared with his listeners that it has been an emotional decision to leave the show and Winnipeg, but that it will always be his home.

The 60-year-old is moving to BC with his family.
