WINNIPEG — Manitobans in a rush to start the long weekend might want to take it a little slower on the roads.
Manitoba Public Insurance says Friday is the most dangerous day for drivers ahead of the long weekend.

40 per cent of August long weekend accidents occur on the Friday.
There is on average one fatality every August long and 30 injuries.
MPI spokesperson Brian Smiley says “People are rushing to get the weekend started” and with more cars on the road, it ncreases the possibility of collisions.
