Regina – Fire crews have determined what caused a blaze that completely destroyed a home in the North Central community Wednesday afternoon.
It happened on the 1300 block of Athol Street around 4 p.m.
Asst. Chief Dwaine Davidson said it appears a small electrical device accidentally sparked the fire in a bed on the second floor.
The rental tenants were home at the time, but everyone made it out safely. The home suffered significant damage.
“It looks like it’s going to be a total loss,” he said. “The kids and mom got out fairly quick, so nobody was hurt and no firefighters were hurt, but it was going pretty good by the time we got there.”
The fire investigator is still trying to determine what type of electrical device sparked the blaze.
