SUV found on steep hill in Edmonton’s river valley

EDMONTON – Police and fire crews responded to reports of a black SUV on a steep embankment in the river valley Wednesday morning.

At approximately 9:45 a.m. police, EMS and fire were called to the hill, near Valleyview Drive and Valleyview Crescent, which is on the west side of the North Saskatchewan River, east of 142 Street and north of Buena Vista Park.

The vehicle was reportedly heading east at the intersection before ending up on the embankment.

The only person inside, the male driver, was treated on scene and taken to hospital.

The man, who is about 30 years old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Edmonton police continue to investigate what contributed to this crash.
