She said YES! Houston Rockets MC captures proposal in epic selfie

WATCH ABOVE: The Houston Rockets’ MC takes a lot of selfies. So it’s no surprise that he used his habit as a guise for his true intentions on the Golden Gate Bridge. Marcelino Benito reports.

TORONTO – Chrislord Templonuevo’s day job is to get fans pumped up before, during, and after Houston Rockets games. And a big part of that involves taking “selfies” — with the players, with the fans, on the court, in the dressing room — wherever.

But last weekend,  Templonuevo’s target audience shrank to one: his girlfriend Lauren Ratcliff. And he used his proclivity for taking “selfies” to hide his true intention: to pop the question.

“He always has his camera with him,” Lauren Ratcliff told KHOU News in Houston. “He’s always filming anything that we do.”

It happened as the couple walked across San Francisco’s Golden Gate bridge, perhaps most iconic these days as the landmark that gets destroyed in nearly every single movie these days.

Templonuevo turned his back to the camera, and slowly took out the box containing the ring while Ratcliff continued to talk, oblivious to what was about to happen.

“I took the box out that’s when I started to shake,” Templonuevo said. “You can see on the video I have a death grip on the box.”

Finally, he asked the question, and Ratcliff said yes (had she said no, this may well have gone viral for very different reasons).

“I had three bullet points to hit, things I wanted to tell Lauren, but I hit none of those,” said Templonuevo. Of course, like a true viral video pro, he was worried about the production of his proposal vidceo.

The clip has gone viral since it was it was posted, with many delighting in the cute, unconventional proposal.

Of course, as stated above, there was really only an audience of one.

“When I look back, I cry every time,” said Ratcliff.
