KELOWNA – Highway 97C has re-opened after being closed for several hours overnight.
The Connector was closed around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a trailer on a flat deck of a semi burst into flames. It’s not known what caused the fire.
It happened near the Brenda Mine Exit.
The fire was eventually put out by West Kelowna Fire Rescue but the B.C. Forestry Service was also on scene monitoring the situation to ensure the flames didn’t spread to nearby bushes.
The highway re-opened around 1 a.m.
