The three male passengers in the taxi, two are 25 years old and one is 22 years old, survived but were rushed to hospital. Two are now in critical condition and the third is stable. Police say it is believed the third man was the only passenger wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police do not know what caused the cab to go off the road and they will be reviewing video from inside the vehicle today. They do however think something happened inside the vehicle before the crash.

Officers suspect the taxi was travelling faster than the speed limit, judging by the damage to the vehicle.
