WATCH: Burglary suspect weeps as judge recognizes him from middle school

A unique middle school reunion was captured on camera in an unlikely place: a courtroom in Miami.

Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Mindy Glazer was presiding over a bond hearing for 49-year-old Arthur Booth, who is suspected of burglary, grand theft, fleeing and resisting arrest on Thursday.

“Mr. Booth, I have a question for you,” she said.

“Yes, ma’am?”

“Did you go to Nautilus for middle school?” she asked.

“Oh my goodness!” Booth said as a wide smile of recognition crept onto his face.

The middle school classmates enjoyed their reunion for a brief moment before Booth’s smile crumbled into weeping.

“I’m sorry to see you there,” said Glazer. “I always wondered what happened to you, sir.”

According to NBC, Booth was arrested on Monday on suspicion of robbery. When police pulled him over, he allegedly fled the scene and caused two accidents before eventually getting caught when he began to run on foot.

Glazer remembered Booth as “the nicest kid” in school who used to play football with her.

“What’s sad is how old we’ve become,” Glazer said jokingly.

The judge then offered some words of advice and encouragement to her former classmate before setting his bond at $43,000.
