Man facing attempted murder charge in Saskatoon shooting

SASKATOON – A man is facing a charge of attempted murder after a shooting Monday morning in Saskatoon. The 30-year-old man is one of four people detained by police minutes after the shooting around 4 a.m. in the 300-block of Avenue R South.

Two people were taken to hospital where they are currently listed in critical but stable condition.

The suspect is also facing charges of careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The three other people in the vehicle, a 36-year-old man and two women, 19 and 20, are each facing charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

No names have been released.

All four are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Tuesday afternoon.

Police continue to investigate.
