WEST KELOWNA – A child was badly injured after being struck and dragged by a van in West Kelowna Monday.
It happened on Ingram Road at about 4:15 p.m.
A family friend tells Global Okanagan News the boy, eight-year-old Jonah Loring, suffered broken ribs and collapsed lungs.
She says the commercial vehicle drove right over him.
Jonah was taken to Kelowna hospital and then air-lifted to BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
His mother flew with him and his father and brother drove down to join them.

A gofundme account has been set up to help the family with expenses.
Jonah’s mother is a management student at UBC-O and received a Ch’nook Scholarship this year.
It recognizes the top 17 indigenous, post-secondary management students in BC and Alberta.
