Deadly collision involving a cyclist in Surrey

A cyclist is dead after a collision with a car in Surrey.

It happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. Monday night at the intersection of 152nd St. and 86th Ave.

Police say a Honda was southbound on 152nd St., when a cyclist travelling on 86th Ave., crossed into the path of the car and they collided.

The cyclist was thrown from the bicycle and died at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old resident of Surrey, and his passenger were transport to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cyclist, who is believed to be a male in his mid-twenties, had no identification on him and his name is not known at this time.

Surrey RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
