Father, 4-year-old daughter share amazing aerobatic flight together for first time

WATCH ABOVE: Léa Langumier told her Dad she was ready – and then couldn’t wipe the smile off her face.

It’s no secret that parents and their children have, on many occasions, shared a special bond or moment. But a Quebec father and daughter duo have taken that to a whole new level just in time for Father’s Day – thousands of feet in the air and completely upside-down.

Raphaël Langumier, 40, is the president and principal pilot at Aviation RL in Lachute – a small community about 60 kilometres Northwest of Montreal along the Rivière du Nord. He’s been flying since 1991, according to the company’s website, and has logged over 8000 hours of flying in more than 60 different aircraft.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

He also has a special bond with his daughter Léa – who has been flying with him since the age of two. Langumier has made it a bit of a habit to post footage of flights with Léa but never with any extreme aerobatics involved.

That changed with a video he shared Wednesday on YouTube that has now gone viral. It has been watched nearly 300,000 times as of this writing.

Langumier, proudly wearing a Canadian flag on his sleeve, could be seen asking Léa if she was ready for her first inverted stunt. Moments after she gave the all-clear, giggles exploded out of her as she watched the Earth rotate out from underneath her.

“Papa, I want my head upside down again,” she could be heard asking in French. Her smiling father obliged.

Langumier took Léa through a handful of spins and flips over the course of the nearly four minute video.

“It’s good?” he asked his daughter as they wrapped up. “Oui!” she replied with a smile from ear-to-ear.
