EDMONTON – Northern Alberta’s Ronald McDonald House has launched a program that provides relief for its families.

Meals that Mend is a daily meals program for families that are staying at RMHCNA . The goal is to provide 900 meals in 2015, which will alleviate families of over 50,000 hours they can in turn devote to their sick child.

“The families here are just so important. They come from all over Canada, and it was just a great opportunity to help support these families,” said Melide Mackee, President of Rotary of Parkland After Dark.

“The last thing they need to worry about is getting breakfast for their families in the morning.”

Rotary of Parkland After Dark is sponsoring the program, providing families with a daily breakfast during July. The organization is also challenging other rotary clubs to do the same.

“It’s such a small donation and makes such a big impact for the families of the Ronald McDonald House,” said Mackee.

Ronald McDonald House is continuing to look for sponsors to help finance the program.
