A government committee has released a 600-page report with 82 recommendations to update Quebec’s family law and better reflect the reality of increased common-law marriages.

Montreal Folk Festival

It’s the 8th edition of the Montreal Folk Festival on the Canal – a family friendly experience that showcases folk, roots and bluegrass music.

Carl Comeau, co-owner of the festival, shares how it has evolved into a five-day event, complete with free outdoor programming and ticketed indoor concerts.

Going green

Engineer Martin Roy is a stand-out in his field – he imagined solar powered heats pumps at the Caisse de dépôt in Mauricie, took part in the net zero building of the Varennes library and was awarded the first LEED gold certification in Quebec for the TOHU building.

He is this year’s recipient of the prestigious Green Building Champion Award in Vancouver, which recognizes outstanding contributions to sustainable building practices in Canadian construction.
