SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Police say a 56-year-old man from Saint John, N.B., is in critical condition after he was found trapped in a pickup truck off a highway.

Bigger says the man’s family became concerned when he did not return home after leaving a friend’s house in Clifton Royal early Thursday morning.

He says a friend of the man located the vehicle on Friday morning and contacted police.

Bigger says the truck was found badly damaged and responders used the Jaws of Life to remove the man, who was breathing but motionless at the time.

He says the man remains in critical condition at Saint John Regional Hospital and police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
