CALGARY- Environment Canada has confirmed an EF-O tornado touched down near Airdrie on Thursday.

People in the area spotted the twister at about 5p.m. just west of the community.
No injuries were reported.
EF-O tornadoes are known to be able to cause damage to trees but generally don’t pose a threat to substantial buildings
