WINNIPEG — It’s still not quite summer in Manitoba. Environment Canada issuing a frost advisory throughout the south late this afternoon.

Friday’s overnight low in Winnipeg will drop to -2 C, that combined with clear skies could produce frost that may damage some crops. Plants should be covered or moved indoors for protection.

It was perfect cottage weather last weekend, but unfortunately the same cannot be said for our final weekend of May.

An arctic air mass continues to sweep south through Manitoba and we will experiencing temperatures 10 degrees colder than normal.

It could be worse. A snowfall warning is in place for Gillam and Shamattawa as a disturbance moving through Northeastern Manitoba brings 10 to 20 centimetres of snow by the end of day Friday.
