VIDEO: Thief caught red handed robbing Regina Pita Pit

REGINA – A local fast food restaurant has turned to social media to help track down a thief caught on video stealing from the store.

According to staff, the shop’s surveillance camera shows a man taking their tip jar with roughly $150 on Monday, around 1:30 in the afternoon.

The owner of the shop in the city’s east end, Dustin Gero, posted the video to Facebook which had received close to 100,000 views as of Thursday morning.

He said recently he has seen other businesses use surveillance to help track down thieves in Regina.

Gero writes, “When I see some low life steal their hard earned tips, it infuriates me.”

Gero also submitted the video to police and is hoping anyone that recognizes the suspect will come contact him or authorities.

“There’s only a few bad people out there, but we know the public cares. That’s why 100,000 people viewed it. They feel the same way as me and my staff about it,” Gero said.

Numerous tips have already come in, and Gero is confident the culprit will be caught.
