TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Greater Toronto Area, including parts of southern Ontario, for later today.
On Wednesday afternoon, Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm warnings in Windsor, Sarnia, Elgin, and the London area.
The weather pattern is expected to continue into early this evening.
The weather office says thunderstorms will be accompanied by damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain at times.
The public is being reminded to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
