TORONTO — Singer Taylor Swift is officially one of the world’s most powerful women, according to the annual list compiled by Forbes.
The 25-year-old singer is now in the company of influencers like Queen Elizabeth II and International Monetary Fund director Christine Lagarde.
The Forbes list of the 100 most powerful women, published Tuesday, ranked Swift at No. 64. She is one of 19 newcomers to the list — and the youngest of the 100.
German chancellor Angela Merkel is in the top spot, followed by U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and philanthropist Melinda Gates.
Oprah Winfrey is the top-ranked celebrity — she’s No. 12 — followed by Beyonce (No. 21), Ellen De Generes (No. 50), Angelina Jolie (No. 54), Sofia Vergara (No. 57) and Shakira (No. 81).
Forbes says its annual list is compiled based on “money, media momentum, spheres of influence and impact.”
Singer Lady Gaga and model Gisele Bundchen are no longer among the 100 most powerful woman. According to Forbes, the pair has “fallen in influence/impact.”
