TORONTO — Canadian actress Rachel McAdams played one of her most important roles last weekend — maid of honour at her sister’s wedding.

The 36-year-old was at the Port Cunnington Lodge on Lake of Bays in the Muskoka region of Ontario last weekend to watch younger sister Kayleen McAdams tie the knot with Evan Turner.

McAdams, who was born in London, Ont. and has a home in Toronto, wore a light blue draped Zimmerman halter dress and gold Christian Louboutin stilettos at the outdoor ceremony. She held a bouquet of pink peonies and white roses.

The star of Wedding Crashers and The Vow was escorted to the water’s edge by Turner’s best man. During the ceremony, which took place on a dock and was officiated by a female minister, McAdams was spotted wiping tears from her eyes.

Later, she cheered when the newlyweds kissed for the wedding photographer.

Rachel’s presence at the wedding brought out a pair of Toronto-based paparazzi, who captured the goings-on from a boat.

Kayleen, a make-up artist based in Los Angeles, wore a white mermaid gown and was escorted to the ceremony by parents Sandra and Lance. The McAdams sisters’ brother Daniel wore a striped bow tie for the ceremony.

The groom looked dapper in a grey suit.

Port Cunnington Lodge is a popular destination for weddings — including celebrity ones. Last June, singer Suzie McNeil tied the knot with musician Andrew Mactaggart at the resort.

Shania Twain, whose cottage is located on the lake, is an occasional visitor to the lodge.
