Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several parts of the Interior region including the Okanagan Valley. Severe thunderstorms with heavy rain could develop this afternoon. Some of the storms could produce downpours of 15 to 20 millimeters of rain per hour. It’s possible there could be flooding in some parts of the southwest interior as well as hail and strong wind gusts. A reminder to be prepared for severe weather and take cover immediately in the event of threatening weather.
