Man injured in Rundle shooting

WATCH ABOVE: A shooting in Rundle on Sunday sent one man to hospital. Sarah Offin reports. 

CALGARY – One man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the head in the community of Rundle on Sunday.

It happened in the intersection of Rundlefield Road and Rundlehorn Drive N.E. around 11 p.m.

The victim managed to find his way to a nearby home along Rundlefield Crescent N.E. to ask for help.

The homeowner called 911 and helped the man until police and EMS arrived.

He was taken to the Foothills Medical Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

One man who lives in the area says he heard at least eight shots fired.

“I was thinking at first that maybe it was fireworks,” said John Van Den Brink.

Police were able to recover several bullet casings from the scene, and say they believe the attack was targeted.
