Kelowna woman dies in pedestrian crash

KELOWNA — A 40-year-old woman died in Kelowna early Sunday morning after a pedestrian collision. Witnesses told RCMP that the victim’s husband was driving a grey Chevy pick-up truck pulling a trailer.

“[He] was driving north onto the 3100 block of Lakeshore Road when it struck the female with the trailer,” says Sergeant Patricia Cook with Kelowna RCMP. “The driver of the truck was the victim’s husband.”

Cook says the woman died at the scene. The victim’s identity is not being released until her family is notified.

“The investigation continues with respect to the totality of the circumstances,” says Cook. “The Traffic Reconstructionist and coroner attended to examine the scene and more will be known following the conclusion of their investigation.”

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m.
