CALGARY – A motorcycle and small car crashed at the intersection at Range Road 33 and Springbank Road Friday evening.

The driver and passenger on the motorcycle were transported to Foothills Hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.

The driver of the motorcycle is a man in his mid to late 40’s and the passenger is a woman in her mid to late 40’s.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

A woman was the single occupant of the small car and was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries.

RCMP say it’s suspected that the driver of the car ran a stop sign at the intersection and then the motorcycle collided with the car.

The crash happened just across from Springbank High School.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and whether or not distracted driving may have been a factor.
