WINNIPEG – A 52-year-old man died Thursday when the van he was in rolled on Highway 384 west of Moose Lake, Man., RCMP say.

Police arrived at about 3:30 p.m. to find the van in the south ditch, resting on its roof, an RCMP news release says. Police believe the van, which was carrying four Moose Lake residents, flipped more than once and two men were found outside the vehicle.

The 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the crash scene, while a 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old women who were also in the van when it crashed were taken to hospital by a passerby before police arrived. The woman was admitted to hospital in stable condition while the man was treated and released.

Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the collision, and at least two people weren’t wearing seatbelts.
