EDMONTON — In what was originally a call to Edmonton police about a collision appears to have evolved into something more for investigators.

Police responded just before 9 p.m. Thursday to the crash involving a white car and an SUV, which shut down 97 Street between 144 and 153 Avenue for several hours, while a large number of officers investigated.

Officers say the car was driving south on 97 Street towards Griesbach Road when the SUV allegedly started shooting at the vehicle. The car then collided with another car, police said Friday afternoon.

When police arrived the Cadillac did have bullet holes in it.

Earlier Thursday evening, police were called to a hit-and-run collision involving an SUV. Police say the occupants of the SUV reportedly presented a weapon to another vehicle. Officers believe this SUV may be the same vehicle involved in the other collision.
