EDMONTON — Astonishing dashcam footage posted online shows the back axle of a muscle car becoming completely detached from the vehicle.
The video captures what appears to be a red Dodge Dart passing the vehicle with the dashcam before jerking and halting in the right lane.
The back end of the car bounces upwards and the back axle – with both rear wheels – breaks off and is left in the middle of the road.
RCMP confirm the incident happened in Stony Plain, a town just west of Edmonton, on May 11, 2015.
The jaw-dropping footage was posted on YouTube and the Shoutout Edmonton website.
Stony Plain RCMP say no charges were laid.
