WINNIPEG — Classes ended early for students at Shaughnessy Park School Wednesday afternoon. Equipment fumes from the installation of the school’s new gymnasium floor set off a carbon monoxide alarm.

The Winnipeg School Division said students evacuated the building and were supervised in the school playground. Parents were being contacted to pick up their children early.

School will resume as normal Thursday morning.

Roughly 470 students in Nursery to grade 8 attend Shaughnessy Park School, located on Manitoba Avenue.
