LPGA’s Canadian Open back to Calgary in 2016

CALGARY – The LPGA’s Canadian Pacific Women’s Open returns to Calgary in 2016.

The tournament will be played Aug. 22-28 at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club.

The club previously hosted the tournament in 2009 and 1999.

First held in 1973, this year’s national women’s open championship will he held Aug. 17-23 at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam, B.C., and offers a prize purse of US$2.25 million.

So Yeon Ryu of South Korea is the defending champion. She went 23-under par to win last year’s event at the London Hunt and Country Club in London, Ont.

Norway’s Suzann Pettersen won at Priddis in 2009 shooting 15-under par. Karrie Webb was the Canadian Open champion a decade earlier.
