Washington State father turns pancakes into art

VANCOUVER – Chances are, Nathan Shields’ children look forward to breakfast even more than most kids.

That’s because their father turns their pancakes into works of art.

The Washington State illustrator and math teacher takes different-coloured pancake batter, and squeezes out truly amazing creations.

The most remarkable part: they don’t really come to life until he flips them over.
