CALGARY – Fire crews scrambled into action on Tuesday night, when a two alarm fire gutted a home in the northeast neighbourhood of Rundle.
Firefighters arrived in the 200 block of Rundleview Drive around 7 p.m. to find smoke billowing from the house.
The fire was tough to control, and took more than an hour to contain.
One person in the home at the time was able to get out.
The home was under renovation, and officials say several small explosions were reported before emergency crews arrived.
Damage to the home was extensive.
One person was displaced as a result of the fire, but is receiving aid from the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) and the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
