The InstaList: Canadian kitchen connoisseurs on Instagram

We’re not sure when or why people starting photographing and sharing their every meal on Instagram, but the five hunger-inducing accounts on this edition of The InstaList make us glad that they did.

Who: Dan Clapson – @dansgoodside. Food/travel writer. Originally from Saskatoon, Sask. and currently living in Calgary, Alta.

What: Clapson heads Started From Scratch, writes for numerous media sources (including Food Network Canada!) and co-founded Canada’s first official national culinary website. He’s also a Global Calgary regular.

Who: Josh Gale – @thechefoutwest. Head Chef at Vancouver’s Nicli’s Next Door. Former MasterChef Canada contestant. Vancouver, BC.

What: Photos of colourful, artfully plated dishes so appealing to the eye you (almost) wouldn’t want to eat them.

 

Who: Dave Bohati – @chefbohati. Chef. Calgary, Alta.

What: Bohati is the executive chef at Market, one of Calgary’s most talked-about restaurants and a favourite of Global’s Lisa Wolansky.

Who: Angus An – @chefangusan.  Vancouver, BC.

What: An has worked under the likes of world famous chefs such as Jacques Pepin. He is the owner of and chef at two of Vancouver’s tastiest Thai resturants: Maenam and Longtail Kitchen.

 

Who: Food Banks Canada – @foodbankscanada. The official Instagram feed of Food Banks Canada.

What: Unlike the other “foodie” Instagram pages we love, the plates in the photos on this account are empty – and for a good reason.
