EDMONTON — A 55-year-old Red Deer man was killed Saturday night after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a lamp post in the central Alberta city.
RCMP responded to the fatal crash on Taylor Drive near the intersection with Kerry Wood Drive around 7 p.m.
Witnesses told police the driver of the motorcycle was speeding when he lost control and flipped the motorcycle, before striking a lamp post. The man died on scene.
An RCMP collision analyst was called to investigate. Police don’t think alcohol was involved, but believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
The man’s name is not being released.
