REGINA – Everything from hockey to guitars to mining equipment was on display Friday at the First Nations University of Canada.

The Regina regional heritage fair gives students in grades four through eight a chance to show off projects representing their background. Students were picked from different schools in Regina and the surrounding area.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

It wasn’t just those students that were excited to see the projects being displayed, their classmates came to see the diverse projects. Teachers were also impressed by the work.

“It’s really nice to see them appreciating the Canadian heritage and looking at different aspects of the culture that really interests them,” said Clayton Murray, a teacher from St. Gregory school. “Then when they get to display their learning and you get to see the fruits of that work, it makes it rewarding for a teacher to see that.”
