SASKATOON – Officers have arrested a 19-year-old Saskatoon man in connection to several robberies that occurred within two days. Police say the suspect is facing multiple charges related to four incidents.
On Thursday and Friday, police say there were several incidents of elderly women being robbed of their purses by a male suspect.
Also, at around 4:45 a.m. Friday, a robbery took place at a convenience store in the 3000-block of Fairlight Drive involving a male suspect who used a knife to intimidate staff.
Charges against the man include: wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offense, carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace, theft under $5,000 and three counts of robbery.
The accused is scheduled to appear in provincial court Monday morning. His name has not been released.
Police are aware that there were several unsuccessful attempts to rob other women on Thursday and Friday. Anyone who may have been a victim is asked to report it.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
