WATCH ABOVE: A U.S. woman read about a stray dog on a community Facebook page. She saw the dumpster where the dog was abandoned and immediately rushed over.
Joanna Felt says she couldn’t believe what she found in a shopping bag inside of a dumpster: a puppy abandoned by its owners.
Felt heard about the abandoned newborn on a community Facebook page in Phoenix, Arizona, called “Straydog.” She saw where the dumpster was located and rushed over to the site.
That’s where she found the tiny dog in a Panda Express bag – her family had to empty three quarters of the dumpster.
“Honestly, I wanted to cry,” Felt told NBC News.
“It was rolled up as if someone had just discarded their lunch…I don’t see how anyone can be so heartless for anything living,” she said.
The puppy was taken to an emergency animal clinic before Felt took her new pet home for rest.
It now has a name: Panda. And Felt says, with the help of a local pet adoption agency, she hopes to find Panda a permanent family.
