WINNIPEG — Canada’s Prime Minister announced the government will give new funding to Child Advocacy Centres to help support young victim’s of crime Friday. This is part of the 2015 budget.
“Nothing is more important than the life of a child,” said Harper at a gala held at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg.
The gala was celebrating the Canadian Centre for Child Protection’s 30th anniversary.
Earlier Friday Harper held a round table discussion with his wife Laureen addressing measures the Canadian government is putting in place to help protect youth in the country.
The Prime Minister and his wife have supported youth protection in the past and the gala was the main reason for their visit to Manitoba.
Harper also talked about Jihadist terrorism and referenced recent international and national attacks.
