NEW YORK — Derek Hough is recovering from injuries that have him sitting out of performances at Radio City Music Hall and could sideline him on Dancing with the Stars.
The Emmy Award-winning choreographer was injured Monday while rehearsing for next week’s 10th Anniversary Dancing special.
He was diagnosed with a broken toe on his right foot and sprains and bone bruising to his left ankle.
His publicist confirms 29-year-old Hough will remain in L.A. this week to recover from his injuries while an understudy fills in on the Radio City New York Spring Spectacular in which Hough has a starring role.
Gymnast Nastia Liukin, Hough’s current Dancing with the Stars partner, is training with a different pro-dancer in the meantime.
It’s unclear whether Hough will be able to perform on Monday’s show.
Hough has won Dancing with the Stars five times, more than any other pro on the show.
