Kelowna–Police had a lot to deal with Wednesday afternoon after someone fled the scene of a five car pile-up on Harvey Avenue.
It happened shortly before 5:00 in the northbound lane of Highway 97 at Ethel Street.
An officer at the scene told Global Okanagan that one of the people involved in the crash attempted to leave the scene. Police stopped the person and questioned them in their vehicle, but it is unknown if the person was arrested.
A number of people were questioned, but no cause for the accident has been released.
The multi–car crash tied up rush hour traffic, blocking off several lanes on the busy thoroughfare for well over an hour.
