Any photographer worth their salt knows to have their camera ready to shoot at all times.
Luckily for one Florida couple, photographer Ivan Seligman captured their engagement by chance while checking the battery level on his camera on Tuesday.
When Seligman realized he had shot a heartfelt moment between the couple, he asked the local NBC news affiliate WBBH to help track down the happy duo.
They posted the image on their Facebook page to see if viewers could help identify the couple, and were quickly identified as Joey Schaefer and Lauren Ferrara.
The couple was returning from a day at the beach, where Schaefer had intended to propose. But when he couldn’t find the right moment, he went down on one knee on their way home.
“I cried, I cried, I got all teared up,” Ferrara told WBBH as she showed off her new ring. “I had to say yes.”
To make the situation even sweeter, Seligman has offered to photograph the couple’s wedding as his gift to them.
