VANCOUVER – Voting in the transit plebiscite has reached the halfway point, with voters deciding whether to support a 0.5 per cent congestion improvement tax.
So far, 21.8 per cent of ballots have been screened. This is up from eight per cent on April 9. However, to date, 495,000 ballots (about 1/3 of total ballots) have been returned to Elections BC, but some have not been screened yet.
The Township of Langley is leading the results so far with 28.4 per cent of ballots screened. The City of Vancouver is at 25.1 per cent and the City of Maple Ridge is third at 24.8 per cent. View the results here.
