RCMP. File/Global News

EDMONTON — RCMP are looking for suspects after two violent armed robberies in the central Alberta town of Bashaw Tuesday afternoon.

Staff at Bashaw Foods Liquor Town were bear sprayed, held at gunpoint and assaulted with an ice chipper, police said.

Two men drove away from the scene with an undetermined amount of cash in a white 4×4, but there are no further details about the description of the suspects.

RCMP were then called to an armed robbery at Dino’s Bar in Grill in Donalda about half-an-hour later. Employees were allegedly held at gunpoint by two men in that robbery. A VLT and an undetermined amount of cash were taken. The suspects could be heard leaving in a truck that was parked behind the bar.

Donalda is 29 kilometers east of Bashaw, 111 kilometers northeast of Red Deer.
