TORONTO – An 84-year old man has died after being stabbed Thursday afternoon in Mississauga. His 80-year-old wife was also stabbed in the incident and is expected to recover. Both victims were rushed to Credit Valley Hospital where the man succumbed to his injuries.
Peel police have arrested a man in the double stabbing, which occurred at around 1 p.m. on Stillriver Crescent, near Creditview Road and Bristol Road West. K-9 units assisted in finding the man, who fled the scene.
The suspect was taken into custody around 2:30 p.m. The accused is 21 and is being charged with murder and attempted murder. He is expected to appear in court Friday morning in Brampton.
Three nearby schools were placed in hold and secure modes during the incident.
